Greetings from Rob & Pam Schabatka – Broker/Owners of RE/MAX Sedona

Hike Bell Rock in Sedona, AZ

As the summer heat delays its start in the mornings and begins fading earlier in the evenings, now is the perfect time to take advantage of Sedona’s Hiking Trails up and around the Red Rocks.

We love Bell Rock! Its shape allows you to gradually walk up the rock without having to climb, except for certain areas that can definitely be avoided. If you are new to hiking or you simply love the breathtaking view from atop a mountain, but only enjoy mild climbing, Bell Rock is the best Sedona Red Rock formation for you!

How to Get There

Driving from the Village of Oak Creek (VOC), pass Bell Rock and park in one of the two scenic overlooks/parking lots for hikers, located on either side of State Route 179. After doing so, make your way to the start of the Bell Rock Trail. Begin walking your way up the base of the rock.

How Much It Costs

The trail head costs nothing to enter. There is a nominal fee for parking that must be purchased to park anywhere in Red Rock Country. Currently the fees are as follows:

  • Daily Pass – $5
  • Weekly Pass – $15
  • Annual Pass – $20

***Don’t forget to take time to glance around you on different points on the hike to see the magnificent surroundings facing the south to the VOC and especially north and northwest towards the city of Sedona.

If you would like to admire Sedona’s topography from a lower elevation, we recommend walking or mountain biking the loop around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte.

If you fall in love with this place, just like we have, and are interested in living near one of Sedona’s many Hiking Trails around the VOC; click the following link to view current VOC Real Estate Deals or visit our Sedona AZ Real Estate Website with general real estate questions. Or give us a call at 928-821-3508 or 928-282-4166 with questions about buying any home for sale in Sedona AZ!

We hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery as much as we do. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
