Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona
It may come as a surprise that our high desert location could support a rich array of wetland bird varieties, but indeed it does. For unrivaled viewing opportunities, Sedona Wetlands Preserve is the place to go. The preserve is located at the waste water treatment plant off of State Route 89A between Sedona and Cottonwood and is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
The park is a lovely place for bird-watching, but also for photography and just leisurely walking as it is such a beautiful contrast to the land surrounding it. In fact, in the juried art competition at the 2013 Sedona Winefest, local artist Wayne Knowles won first prize for his ability to capture the beauty and essence of the wetlands.
For good reason, Sedona’s very own wetlands is on the list of best bird watching locations in the Verde Valley. A reason we love living in Sedona is community volunteers & their resourcefulness. The Northern Arizona Audubon Society had the vision to convert what could have been a liability into a wonderful community asset – now know as the Sedona Wetlands Preserve. The park is complete with walkways, picnic tables with shade and clean restrooms.
