#132 – 50’s & 60’s Graffiti Gold Show
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

The younger generation in Sedona often feel as though there is not much entertainment or things to do that enthuse young adults. We’ve got news for you! A new Rock & Roll group moved into town to show off their talents to the people of Sedona!

The previous IMAX theater in the Village of Oak Creek, has been renovated as many things throughout the years. This last year, 2012, it was shut down and used as a place for bands to rent and practice their music in privacy of the sound-proof walls. With the new year of 2013 and new owners, the building has been transformed into the place into something that has brought a new “twist” to Sedona.

A group from Branson, Missouri began putting on a show called the “50’s & 60’s Graffiti Gold Show” every night at 7:30pm FREE of charge as of right now! Usually the show costs anywhere between $20-$55 but for limited time, it is free of charge. The show is filled with good ol’ rock and roll music. The main highlight of the show is the actress that got her trained in Vegas and brings Vegas Show quality to a Sedona stage. Throughout the show she constantly changes outfits and shows off her dancing and trapeze skills.

Living in Sedona, we never know what to expect next. As a retirement community this new show got Sedona Residents out of their seats dancing to the famous hits of the 50s & 60s! The show features classic artists like Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, Little Richard, The Coasters and many many more! We love the show because it demonstrates people living out their natural talents while bringing life to the community of Sedona!

If you are interested in going to a show at the Canyon Moon Theatre, call 928-282-5145 for ticket times and prices! #128 – Sedona Bluegrass Festival
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

If you love listening to live bluegrass music while being surrounded by red rocks, then Sedona was the place for you to be this last weekend! Sedona hosted the seventh annual Sedona Bluegrass Festival this weekend at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. Not much can be better than sitting by the Oak Creek listening to a Bluegrass concert.

Sedona is known for the majestic beauty that the red rocks bring. But on a weekend like this, the entire atmosphere of Sedona changes. Everything just becomes more real, down to earth and peaceful. The annual Bluegrass Festival has been held at the bank of the Oak Creek, rain or shine! The festival this year had several guest performances starting at 12 o’clock noon and ending in the evening at 6:30pm, all being led by the head show of the David Grisman FolkJass Trio. They are said to be “bringing a fresh view of American Folk tunes and more”.

There were seven different groups playing at the festival total. Each of the shows were very unique. In the same way that every artist paints with their own style, each musician at the festival played songs and added their own very unique style to it. Some of the performers included Muskellunge, Sonoran Dogs, Titan Valley Warheads, Brunett Family Bluegrass, Pick and Hollor, and the Matt Flonner Trio. The entire weekend turned out perfect, maybe year #7 is the charm! Escaping the heat, in the shade under the trees by the creek-side was our favorite part!

The next Bluegrass concert in Sedona is not until November 10th. So if you missed out on this last one, don’t miss the next one!

Consider moving to Sedona to enjoy creek-side festivals at Tlaqupaque? #125 – Sedona Trolley
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

Another reason we love living in Sedona – the Sedona Trolley! The Sedona Trolley brings a small-town feeling to the Sedona community. It is a friendly service that takes the residents and the tourists around town on different tours to see Sedona and the famous red rock views first hand.

Sedona Trolley rides are given on a first come, first served basis. There is no need to plan too far ahead for tickets. When boarding the trolley, you can pay your fee for the ride. Currently prices are only $15 for adults and $12 for children. There are two different tours you can take. They both take approx. 55 minutes and depart from the Uptown Depot.

Tour A travels along the south end of Sedona. It shows the famous Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village and the Gallery District. However, the main highlight of this tour would have to be the stop at the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This is a famous place in Sedona. A Chapel is built into the red rocks with amazing views of Sedona. The Sedona Trolley stops here for 15-20 minutes to let passengers explore the Chapel of the Holy Cross. If you ever get a chance to view the Chapel, don’t miss out! It is a place that everyone should see no matter what your religious beliefs are! This tour departs every two hours, starting at 12noon.

Tour B showcases the west side of Sedona before leaving town to visit Dry Creek Valley. Here, the trolley shows passengers the vistas of Boynton and Long Canyon. The Sedona Trolley brings its passengers to these destinations before traveling back into Sedona. This tour begins at 9am and deports several times a day.

The Sedona Trolley is also available to rent. Sedona Red Rock High School typically rents the trolley during graduation week to bring all of the graduates on a ride to a picnic at the creek. Big Park Elementary and West Sedona Elementary schools both rent out the trolley for special occasions as well. Are you planning a wedding or family reunion in Sedona? The Sedona Trolley is a fun way to carpool large group of people around during special events.

The Sedona Trolley is one of the many things that makes Sedona a special place to live. Do you have an event coming up where you might want to rent the Sedona Trolley for your guests? If so, please visit the Sedona Trolley website for more information regarding your needs.

If you would like to join the community of Sedona and be able to take tour rides on the Sedona Trolley year-round, contact us for more information! We are available by email or phone. #124 – Schnebly Hill Tour
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX SedonaSchnebly Hill Road

Schnebly Hill Road is a famous scenic drive in Sedona. The view from the top of the drive is a sight that no one would ever want to miss! One of our favorite tours around Sedona would have to be Schnebly Hill! This view is definitely a reason to live in Sedona. Take a moment and breathe it in!

Schnebly Hill, another route from Sedona to the neighboring town of Flagstaff, is a popular route for the Pink Jeep Tours to take. The Pink Jeep Tours take Sedona tourists on rides all around Sedona. They off-road through the red rocks and 4wheel in the areas that the majority of people would never dare to go. In the case of Schnebly Hill, the tracks left by these jeeps can be followed by other vehicles. This is what we follow when we want to take a little adventure into the wilderness!

Schnebly Hill Road is a prime location in Sedona. the views from the top of the hill are an expression of Sedona’s beauty. After the first big turn in the road, people like to stop to take photos of the view of Sedona, but the real prize is the view from the top! Don’t turn back early, it’s worth the wait! Just make sure to have a truck, jeep or 4wheeler to get yourself to the top of the rocky road. We feel its like seeing the Grand Canyon, it’s just something you have to do once in your life, you won’t regret it!

This trail is an access to Flagstaff; however, majority of the year it is closed due to unsafe driving availability. There is a gate at the top of the Sedona portion of the drive that gets locked whenever the road is closed. This happens in the winter and sometimes during Summer Monsoon Season.

The view from the top is unbelievable. On one side you are enclosed in a bowl of Red Rocks, and on the other side you are facing a wall of pine trees, showing that you are halfway between the two worlds. You are able to see the diversity of Flagstaff vs Sedona. This view really shows Sedona’s remarkable beauty that no other place has to offer!

Sedona is a very unique place, filled with red rocks, desert landscape and lush vegetation by the creek! No neighboring town has the same qualities of Sedona.  Want to live among the Red Rocks? Consider buying a home or property in Sedona. Visit our website to search Sedona Homes for Sale and property in the Verde Valley. For any questions you may run into, email us or call us at the RE/MAX Sedona Office at 928-282-4166 x 253. We are here to assist your needs in anyway that we can! #121 – Sunset Park
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

We love living in Sedona because of all the things we can do outside in the sunshine. One of those activities is going to Sunset Park! Sunset Park is the newest park in Sedona, and is in a great location for any festivity you may want to plan!

Sunset Park sits on 7.46 acres in the heart of West Sedona. The park is filled with many different highlights, including recently renovated tennis courts (two) and a basketball court. If you like to play basketball with friends or family or if you enjoy a game of tennis every now and then, Sunset Park would be the place for you to go! The courts are very nice and are fun to play on; just bring your own equipment and you are ready to play.

There are also two ramadas there for your convenience if you would like to eat lunch in the shade. These shade canopies were installed for park guests to have an escape from the sun. Do you have a birthday party of family reunion that you would like to host at West Sedona’s Sunset Park? You can rent the Ramadas as well as both of the tennis courts and basketball court.

If you are a nature lover that enjoys going on a walk, the “Lollipop Trail” might be of interest to you. This 1/10 mile loop is perfect for bird watching and soaking in the Sedona, AZ sun. The trail also matches up to the Coconino National Forest. You can stay on the trail, or make your own path and travel into the forest to explore!.

Sunset Park is geared for kids. If you have young children we’re sure you will become a regular here at Sunset Park. Whenever our grandson is visiting town, Sunset Park is one of our first stops! The children’s playground is underneath a sunshade to protect them from the heat. There is also a bigger playground for kids of all ages to enjoy the park.

The best part of Sunset Park is that there is a huge grassy field, big enough for a game of catch or frisbee. Often times, kids will gather here to play flag football in the grass. We love living in Sedona because Sunset Park is such a fun place to bring the family. Dogs are allowed at the park as long as they are kept on a leash at all times, for the safety of others.

#120 – Sedona Dog Park
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

As Sedona welcomes new residents, our community also welcomes new dogs! One thing that Sedona dog owners love to do is bring their pet(s) to the local dog park. The City of Sedona received enough funding to open the local dog park a few years ago and ever since, the people of Sedona have enjoyed bringing their dogs to socialize and play!

The Sedona Dog Park opened in 2007 after receiving two large anonymous donations and hundreds of other donations from Sedona residents. The park location was determined by the city of Sedona and Rick Wesselhoff and John Lupo did a great job designing the Sedona Dog Park. The team of designers knew that shade was important during the summer months, due to the extreme heat that Sedona has. Skyline Steel made the best shade structures designed to perfectly fit the dog park. We feel the Dog Park is exactly what Sedona needed and is one of our favorite Reasons to Live in Sedona.

The Dog Park reflects the friendly atmosphere of Sedona. Like most places, there are rules set in order to maintain good behavior at the Dog Park. First off, the most important thing when working with animals is wanting to keep the animals friendly with each other. At the Sedona Dog Park, if there are any signs whatsoever of aggression with your dog, you are required to leave the premises. Like most places, when you enter the park, you enter at your own risk. Due to the fact that there is no way to determine if a dog is suddenly going to turn aggressive, bringing your dog around other dogs is a risk.

The hours of operation vary depending on the time of the year in which you attend the Sedona Dog Park. April 1st until October 1st, the park is open from 6am-8pm. Then, Winter hours come into affect – from October 1st to April 1st, the park is open from 7am-7pm.

We want to remind you to vaccinate your dog and make sure to have a Sedona City License on your dog’s collar before going to the park. As long as you clean up after your dog (or yourselves, LOL), you’ll be set to meet other dog-loving Sedona Residents that may become life-long friends. Another suggestion of ours is be sure not to bring non-neutered males or females that are in heat to the park, otherwise you might end up having to bring a whole crew of puppies along to the Sedona Dog Park!

Sedona residents love spending time with their dogs here, and we do to! For more information about the Sedona Dog Park, visit their website. If you (and your dog) would like to join our wonderful community, visit our website for Sedona Community Information and to search for Sedona Property for Sale. We are here to assist you during your search for Sedona homes! Contact us via email or via phone at 928-282-4166 x 253. We look forward to hearing from you!

Vibrant. Charming. Rich with heritage.

Sedona did what it does best this weekend with the Cinco de Mayo Festival at Tlaquepaque Arts & Craft Village! Festivities were none less than astounding. Like all things in Sedona, the Cinco de Mayo Festival 2012 was full of elegance, flavorful cuisine & outstanding entertainment and art shows.

The festivities began on Friday, May 4th, 2012 with Sedona’s monthly First Friday Art Walks. On Saturday morning at 11am, Tlaquepaque was taken over by Mariachi’s who walked the pebble streets of the Village while playing in Calle Independencia. Throughout the day there were various live performances with Mexican influence such as Folklorico Dancers.
