#29 – Grasshopper Point
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona AZ
September 21, 2011 12:00 pm
Greetings from Rob & Pam Schabatka – Broker/Owners of RE/MAX Sedona…
The dry heat of Sedona summers makes jumping into the Oak Creek River the perfect weekend activity. In addition to one of the most photographed places in America, Red Rock Crossing (located in Red Rock State Park), Grasshopper Point is a great place to eat a packed lunch at the picnic tables, enjoy the water at the swimming hole, take gorgeous photography, fish and catch wildlife, and for those adventurous types – rock climbing/hiking.
How to Get There
Grasshopper Point is located on State Route 89A on the right-hand side, 2 miles North of Sedona as you enter the Oak Creek Canyon.
How Much Does it Cost?
Unlike most places in Sedona where you would need a Red Rock Pass to park along the forest service, Grasshopper Point has their own payment system.
- $5 per vehicle with up to 5 people
- $2 per walk-in
- $40 annual pass
Grasshopper Point is open 8am-Dusk year round. *Please keep in mind that cliff jumping is discouraged due to varying water depths.
