In honor of the tragic events that took place in our country 10 years ago today, we decided that Reason #19 to Live in Sedona is about the community and how we stand together to comfort each other while honoring America through remembrance. Many organizations, including the Sedona International Film Festival, Local Artist’s exhibit, Sedona Fire District and local veterans, have decided to host several events for the community to attend and participate in.

The events started at 6:59 this morning when The Sedona Fire District held a flag pole ceremony at the SFD Fire Station No. 1, 2860 Southwest Drive. Continuing, Local Artist Liz Learmont will host the exhibit Join the Circle beginning at 11 am. View her sculptures that honor the human spirit and peace and stillness while joining the 50 minutes of silence where each second represents one victim of 9/11.  In addition, the Sedona International Film Festival is hosting a program at the Sedona Performing Arts Center at Sedona Red Rock High School titled, “Remembrance…Celebrating America” where the community will come together and hear patriotic songs while viewing the American Classic sing-a-long movie, “Yankee Doodle Dandy”.

All of these events and others being held by Sedona Organizations are products of a community that stands together and comes together and supports each other during difficult times.
