365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

#101 – New Year’s Resolutions
365 Reasons to Live in Sedona

January 1, 2012 12:00 pm Published by

Greetings from Rob & Pam Schabatka – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona

As we begin the New Year, we have taken time to reflect on 2011. After some thought, there is plenty we would like to improve on in 2012. Sedona AZ is notorious for new beginnings and/or an ideal place to make changes in your life. We feel lucky we get a chance to regroup in such a great place.

We have routinely discussed how we feel Sedona’s culture and outdoor-friendly community is plenty of a reason to live in this gorgeous town. As we took time to decide on our New Year’s Resolutions, we determined 2012 is time to take advantage of our town and to focus on our health. We have decided we will attempt to improve our health in three areas:

  • The Mind
  • The Body
  • and The Soul

With those goals in mind, living in Sedona allows us and others an opportunity to pursue our resolutions with plenty of options locally.

New Year’s Resolution #1: Restoring Health to your Mind
With an assortment of organizations to join, there are multiple ways to engage your mind and to learn something new every day. Here are some examples of things you can do for mental stimulation:

  • Take a class at Yavapai College – Sedona Campus
  • Explore the Sedona Arts Center
  • Take Care in a Cause – Volunteer at:
    • One of Sedona’s elementary schools
    • Sedona’s Public Library
    • The Sedona Canned Food Drive
    • Sedona’s Humane Society, etc.

New Year’s Resolution #2: Restoring Health to your Body
Spending time in nature is one of the best things you can do for your body & spirit. Exercise in Sedona is fun, you have countless options. Here are some suggestions:

  • Train for the Sedona Marathon
  • Hike up and atop the Sedona Red Rocks
  • Walk a trail throughout Sedona’s scenery
  • Bike on one of the many Sedona trails designated for mountain biking
  • Swim against the current of the Oak Creek (or for a more controlled swim, try your hand at swimming laps at the Sedona Public Pool)
  • Kayak or tube down Oak Creek or the nearby Verde River
  • Rock Climb or Hike throughout Oak Creek Canyon
  • Join one of Sedona’s fabulous gyms: Sedona Fit or Snap Fitness if you would like to admire Sedona Red Rocks from an indoor exercise facility.

New Year’s Resolution #3: Restoring Health to your Soul
One reason so many people call Sedona home is the numerous places of worship. If you come to Sedona looking for a place of worship that practices your beliefs, 99% of the time you will find one or more places to choose from.

If you want a community of support and the right environment to proactively live out your New Year’s Resolution then we would like to welcome you! We believe that finding the perfect neighborhood is the start to finding the perfect Sedona Home. If you would like further information on Sedona AZ’s neighborhoods please give us a call at 928-821-3508 or visit us at our REMAX Sedona Office (located in the Safeway Plaza in West Sedona) at 928-282-4166 ext. 253. In the meantime you can Search Sedona Real Estate and/or view these lists of Sedona Property for Sale: West Sedona Homes for Sale or the Village of Oak Creek Homes for Sale.
