Greetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona
Sedona is known as one of the most beautiful places in the world! Our town has some pretty spectacular features, such as: the amazing red rocks, various vortexes, Oak Creek Canyon, creeks and views that are to die for. But one thing that is coming up this weekend, which is why we love living in Sedona, is the spring Supermoon of 2013! Living in Sedona during the Supermoon makes our home even more special than usual because seeing the Sedona Red Rocks underneath the light of a full moon is a once in a lifetime, awe-inspiring sight.
The Supermoon happens approx. once a year. When a full moon comes even closer to the Earth than usual, about three miles, it has a huge affect! This won’t happen again until August 2014, therefore you don’t want to miss experiencing Sedona underneath this year’s Supermoon! The term “supermoon” started about two years ago, when the moon was closer to Earth than usual.
In Sedona, we often see “night photographers” taking in the magnificent views under the light of the moon. They strive to get the shadow of the mountains while also capturing the glow of the red rocks, and reflections in the nearby creeks.
If you are an artist by hobby or trade and are interested in capturing these types of photos, this weekend is the perfect opportunity for it! If you aren’t able to make it to Sedona by this weekend to experience the Supermoon, consider moving here by August 2014, when the next one is predicted to be.
