Imagine radiant red rocks, fresh mountain air, gorgeous blue skies, adrenaline racing, and Madonna in your ear buds. Are you pumped? No? Ok, switch out Madonna for whoever sparks your inner flame! Now that we have set the scene, are you ready to participate in Sedona AZ Summer 5K Series?

Meeting at the Sedona Community Pool, runners will be able to run through both paved and dirt trails around Sedona, through the red rocks during the three different 5K runs. These runs are hosted by the Sedona Parks and Recreation and the Sedona Running Company.

The races started last month, May 29th. If you happened to run in this race, don’t miss out on the next one! Watch how you improve your time and are able to continue improving each race you run. This Thursday, June 27 from 6-7pm is the next race. You can either register ahead of time at the Sedona Running Company website or just show up early for the event. If you run for this race, don’t miss out on the next one, July 25th. Try running all of the races!

If you have ran any type of marathon, this is a good one to start at. It is a little over 3 miles long. You will get a water stop 1.5 miles into the race. This is a fun, community gathering that all Sedona residents love! As stated on the Sedona Running Company website, you get many things as you join in the 5K marathon- “Out of breath, sweaty, a dip in the pool, time with your neighbors, bulging calves, water, bragging rights, other duties as assigned…maybe even some awards”. This is an event for the whole family!
