#180 – Sedona Heritage Museum
September 30, 2015 10:02 amGreetings from Sedona Property Partners – Broker/Owners of REMAX Sedona
How did Sedona get its name? Who were the first to claim Red Rock Country and cultivate Sedona soil? What was life like 100 years ago in our beloved “Sedona”? All of these questions and many more are answered at Sedona Heritage Museum, located off of Jordan road in uptown Sedona. For only $5 admission one can learn many details about the area, including the history of cattle ranching and cowboys.
The early settlers here, like all pioneering families were made of hardy stuff, as were the Native Americans whose history is simply fascinating. The Sedona Museum focuses primarily on “modern” history, since 1876 and has an extensive array of memorabilia and stories; all good information for newcomers and long-time residents alike.
The museum also hosts and serves as a backdrop for weddings and has a beautiful park-like setting that can be used for picture taking. The Sedona Museum offers a bridal preparation facility, chairs and tables for up to 100 for wedding ceremonies & receptions.
Whether you want to stop in for an afternoon or host a celebration of a lifetime, the museum staff provides an excellent resource for discovering all things of Sedona. Visit the website of Sedona Heritage Museum for more info.
